Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrive in Paro & Drive to Thimphu (55 km/1.5 hours)

    Experience the awe-inspiring Himalayan peaks as you arrive in Paro (2,200 meters) and meet your guide. Traverse from Paro to Thimphu, encountering sacred temples and Tachhog Lhakhang’s iron chain bridge en route. Immerse yourself in Thimphu’s architectural marvels like Thimphu Tashichoe Dzong and the Memorial Chorten. Observe locals celebrating archery, and explore the enchanting capital’s contemporary life.

  • Day 2: Thimphu to Phobjikha (134 km/6 hours)

    Travel via Dochu-la pass, marveling at Himalayan vistas and the iconic 108 Chortens. Stop in Punakha/Nobding for lunch and proceed to serene Phobjikha. Pay respects at Gangtey Gonpa, explore Gangtey Valley’s enchanting trails, and engage in evening prayers and discussions on Buddhism with the monks.

  • Day 3: Gangtey Shedra

    Participate in morning prayers and meditation classes at Gangtey Monastery. Engage in various activities including astrological reading, prayer flag hoisting, and private meetings with the abbot. Experience a glimpse of Buddhist life’s love and compassion.

  • Day 4: Gangtey to Punakha (78 km/3 hours)

  • Day 5: Punakha to Paro (130 km/5 hours)
